Celebrant service fees and how I work

How much does a celebrant service cost?

It’s important to know how much a ceremony will cost, with no hidden surprises. Because every ceremony is unique, it’s best for me to give a guide to costs here and suggest that you call me to discuss your plans. There might be additional costs for travel expenses, overnight accommodation, or to cover rehearsal time if required. My fees start from:

  • Naming or welcome ceremony – from £350
  • Couple’s ceremony (wedding or partnership celebration, commitment ceremony) – for ceremonies in 2027 from £600 (fees increase by £50 per year). Traditional hand fasting ceremonies are individually priced, I’d love to help, so please get in touch and I can give you a quote
  • Renewal of vows / anniversary celebration – from £500
  • A bespoke funeral – crematorium or graveside, usually 30-40 minute ceremony, from £280. I do charge extra for services that take longer than 45 minutes, from £300. I will be happy to give you a quote for a longer service. Natural burials are often longer than a crematorium or graveside service, prices are from £290
  • Bespoke memorial services or celebrations of life, perhaps after a direct cremation, or for wider family and friends after a small, private funeral service – I am happy to quote after talking to you to find out what you would like
  • Scattering / interment of ashes, usually a 15 minute ceremony – £100 as a follow on after a funeral I conducted, £150 for a new instruction
  • Pre-planning a funeral – £450 – this includes meeting you to take your instructions, writing your funeral service for your approval if you would like me to do this, or agreeing a list of contacts who will provide the content for me to write the service at the time of your death. It also includes leading the service.

My celebrant services are inclusive and accessible

My services are open to everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, faith or belief. If you or your guests have particular needs I will be happy to work with you and any other suppliers involved to ensure everyone is able to be part of your ceremony.

Working professionally

To enable me to create a ceremony for you, I will need you to share contact details and personal information with me. I respect the importance of taking good care of this personal data. I have a Data Usage and Privacy Statement  which sets out the kind of information that I will need from you, and how I will use it and safeguard it.

I have adopted the Funeral Celebrant Accord. I support its aim of excellent funeral celebrancy, and the five key principles, which are being professional, caring for my clients, being calm and showing natural leadership, writing personalised ceremonies, caring about my self-development.

I hope that we never have to experience again restrictions such as those imposed during the pandemic, but rest assured I will always comply with government guidelines and do my best to protect you, your family and friends as we plan for and take part in your ceremony.
